A group of visionary entrepreneurs led by Luis Torroella Rife started various businesses to serve the booming growth in the oil-rich Zulia State in Venezuela. Upon arrival from Barcelona, Spain, Luis Torroella Rife, a university business administration professor cofounded and managed some of many reputable companies in the region namely: Dimex, a stationery and office supply company; Editorial Maracaibo and Ars Graficas; both printing companies; Inmusa and Ofimueble, an office furniture factory and a dealer respectively; Finisterre, a construction company; and Hacienda la Bartola a Coffee plantation in the Venezuelan Andes among many other successful businesses.
Many years later in 1989 a new generation of the Torroella family took over Ofimueble and shaped the business into what it is today, Venezuela’s leading office furniture supplier. This new period was initiated by Christian Torroella who brought some changes in the line of products with alliances with manufacturer and designer Justo Vera and Sauder Furniture.
In 1993, Christian Torroella left the company to attend his successful company, MD Service, an AutoDesk exclusive regional dealer.
From that moment onwards Luis Miguel y Noi Torroella took over Ofimueble Venezuela till today.
Under the new management, the company grew rapidly nationwide opening branches in Caracas and Maturin and attended all major international companies like Chevron, Repsol, Telefonica, Sanofi, Shell, and leading local companies like Banco Banesco, BOD, Grupo Polar, PDVSA among many large and small clients.
A sustainable growth flourished thanks in part to the meticulous selection of international manufacturers like Manufacturas Muñoz, Nexus, Hilat, Ducon, Rubbermaid, Giuliani, Gautier, Burlingtons Lees, EPI and many other.
A crucial point in Ofimueble’s history with the signing of an exclusive dealership agreement with ACTIU for Venezuela. This alliance brought the best of modern European furniture design and quality to our market and helped maintain Ofimueble's leadership position in Venezuela
